The Deadline for Paper Submission has Passed.:
1. POF 2003 Paper Submittal Guidelines
Authors of both presented and poster session papers are required to submit their final manuscript(s) electronically before August 1, 2003. Below are the detailed instructions (similar to IEEE paper requirements): General Formatting Authors are required to include their email addresses in the paper, and to submit their papers in only pdf format (File in PS format is not permitted), preferably with a resolution no less than 600 dpi. Papers should be in a 2-column format on 8.5 by 11 inch sheets. Each column is limited to 3 1/4 inches in width and 9 inches in length, with a 3/8 inch gutter between columns. The margins should be 13/16 inch on the sides, and 1 inch on the top and bottom. Text is to be typed single spaced in at least 10 point New Times Roman with 12 point interline spacing. The first page of the paper, centered on the top below the top margin, should include the paper title (bold, 14 point font), the authors' names (12 point font), and their affiliations (12 point font). Four pages are allowed for each paper. Figures and illustrations are included in the page count. Figures & Tables Position figures and tables at the tops and bottoms of columns. Avoid placing them in the middle of columns. Large figures and tables may span across both columns. Figure captions should be below the figures; table captions should be above the tables. These captions should be in 8 point font. Avoid placing figures and tables before their first mention in the text. Use abbreviation Fig. 1, even at the beginning of a sentence. Figure axis labels can be a source of confusion. Try to use words rather than symbols. Put units in parentheses. Do not label axes only with units, for instance, write Temperature (T) rather than just T. Numbering Number reference citations consecutively in square brackets [1]. The punctuation follows the bracket. Number footnotes separately in superscripts1. Place the actual footnote at the bottom of the column in which it is cited. Do not put footnotes in the reference list. Use letters for table footnotes. Preparing & Submitting Files When you make your PDF file, please remember to embed in all the fonts you used. Normally you could achieve this purpose by setting the PDF converting configuration as [PRINT] mode instead of the default [screen] mode. The manuscripts should be e-mailed to Design@IGIgroup.com.
